Let’s Have a Laugh! April is National Humor Month
April is coming soon and it’s National Humor Month. It’s actually funny because plenty of us (probably) relate April with taxes, which is definitely no laughing matter.
But isn’t it wonderful?
Here at El Ganzo we pride ourselves on having a great sense of humor, and how can we not? We are a space dedicated to art, music and fun. Top that with great hospitality, great food and the best sunsets in Baja California… all the things that make one happy…
National Humor Month was founded in 1976, by the humorist Larry Wilde and it was designed to heighten public awareness on the therapeutic value of laughter and how it can improve health, boost morale, increase communication skills and enrich the quality of one’s life.
I totally agree with Mister Wilde. If there’s one thing that makes people feel good is laughter. One of the qualities I most admire in people is having a good sense of humor (and it helps if they also have a great and contagious laugh).
Think about the last time you laughed really hard. A big laugh relieves physical tension and relaxes your muscles for up to 45 minutes, it also decreases stress hormones and boosts infection-fighting antibodies, laughter is medicine… period!
So the idea is to smile more, count the good things you have in your life, distance yourself from negative thoughts, make dates with the friends that make you laugh more, watch happy movies, and plan an escapade to El Ganzo.
Let us share some of the art on our walls that makes us smile and perhaps you will decide to come and join us during April — or soon after — here at El Ganzo the 12 months are definitely “good humor” months…
