Born in Mexico City in 1983, Alejandro de León is a conceptual artist who graduated from IADE Madrid. He founded Arquetipo Estudio in 2012, a space from which he has developed local and international projects translating light and matter into works of art, furniture, and architecture, always with a curious inclination toward the playful and the spatial.
His artistic practice revolves around the exploration of space—whether domestic, urban, architectural, or imagined—and how material elements (such as light, matter, volume) can reorganize perceptions. He has produced a series of collections under titles such as Horizon, Fragile Nature, Plates of My Land, and Drama of Time.
Creó un monolito hecho de espejos que sumergió en el mar y después en el jacuzzi. Esa pieza se le regresó al artista.
