Dulce Chacón was trained at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, U.N.A.M.,
Mexico City (1994-1998), in 2001 made an academic residence at Academie
Minerva Faculteit der Kunsten, Groningen, Netherlands. From 2010 to 2012 was
member of the Educative Program at Soma, Mexico city.
Her work has been exhibited in Mexico in museums such as Ex-Teresa, Museo de
Arte Carrillo Gil, Casa del Lago, Centro Cultural de España, Museo de Arte
Moderno, MASIN Culiacán and CECUT Tijuana among others; and abroad in Spain,
Netherlands, Portugal, Czech Republic, U.K., U.S.A, Uruguay, Colombia and
Argentina. Member of Art collective Atlético (1998-2003). She has made artistic
residencies at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, Shropshire, United
Kingdom (2010) and at Temenggong Artist in Residence, Singapore (2013), and
has been granted by Programa Bancomer MACG Arte Actual 3rd edition
(2012-2014), Soma Educative Program (2010-2012) and Lorena Alejandra
Gallardo C.A. (1998) all in Mexico city. Lives and works in Mexico city.
Dulce hizo varias intervenciones en el hotel, todas relacionadas con el espacio. Un mural de un/una astronauta caminando en la Luna en el pasillo de la planta baja y un par de intervenciones en la habitacion 208 que aluden a una posible exploracion de Marte.
