As a multidisciplinary visual artist, I explore fields ranging from digital and editorial illustration to screen printing, risography, drawing, painting, and muralism. My work germinates in the fragmentary passages of the mundane, in the in-between spaces we see and move through but often fail to perceive. This practice begins with the unveiling of images, texts, and objects I discover in the streets, which I then semantically dislocate in order to confront the homogenization of needs, the standardization of the senses, and the normalization of behaviors. I am an aesthetic surveyor, metaphorically measuring the urban landscape; an ethnologist of allegories; a botanist of sidewalks; a flâneur; an alchemical reader seeking to uncover that universe of meaning which does not appear at first glance, but only through the contemplation proper to wandering and its disinterested investigations. I learn from otherness: the language of the city, of the cities—because they are many and diverse. My creations probe into the decontextualized everyday, into otherness, absurdity, error, the borderlands, the thresholds between the normal and the strange, the street: a free source of references, stories, and characters that materialize through reconstruction by means of thought, memory, imagination, and the artist’s dreamlike space. I speak of the immediate reality of the street, of the fleeting and ephemeral, sustained by uselessness and autonomy; they are poetic narratives, an aesthetic sensitization of the metropolis. Ultimately, my work unfolds through the reaffirmation of active idleness, understood as an intimate occurrence conducive to autopoiesis: “idleness is health.”
