Hector Madera (1977, Puerto Rico) works primarily the medium of collage, with
paper having a major role in his work as a pictorial element, sculptural object and
as a support for large scale work. His work has been exhibited in numerous
venues, some of them are Proyecto Paralelo (Mexico City), KB - Espacio para La
Cultura (Bogotá), Museum of Contemporary Art (Puerto Rico), Saatchi Gallery
(London), ARCO Solo Objects (Madrid), Espacio NoMinimo (Ecuador), Museum of
Contemporary Art (Chicago), Green Gallery (Milwaukee), CAM Raleigh (North
Carolina), Fine Arts Museum (Taiwan). His work was selected to form part of the
exhibition Cut n’ Mix at El Museo del Barrio (New York, 2015) curated by Rocio
Aranda, and served as a review of the current production of collage by Latin
American artists. He lives and works in Mexico City.
