Working and living between México and New York. With a body of work focused primarily on installation, sculpture, drawing, and photography. Amaya intends to interpret and express the neurological points found in human relationships as well as an exploration of intimacy and identity. Her main art inspirations and interests revolve around the existentialism and contemplation of the modern world, which she likes to explore those concepts and represent them in a simple and literal way. With a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts from Universidad de Guadalajara, México. She has attended the Students Art League of NY where she specialized in mixed media, and is part of the lAP (Immigrant mentoring program) at New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) 2015. Selected in the Biennial EL PASO, TEXAS, 2016. In the 2013-2014 was awarded a scholarship PECDA Program of Artistic Incentive Creation. In 2017, she got for the second time the scholarship PEDA Program of artistic incentive creation.

Al llegar a Hotel El Ganzo, Amaya tenía ya una propuesta preestablecida de lo que su intervención iba a ser; un juego conceptual del lenguaje y las palabras hechas en materiales puros como la madera y los metales. Con la idea de crear piezas poéticas y una oda a los materiales utilizados en su arte, su intervención dentro de El Ganzo no fue figurativa sino más conceptual y minimalista, inspirándose en el cine y utilizando madera quemada como material principal representado la memoria; “La naturaleza es un acto de poesía y es por esto que la manejo como tal”. mencionó Karian en entrevista. Siempre haciendo alusión entre el titulo y la imagen, la artista trata que la palabra ayude a descubrir lo que es la obra; esto se puede ver claramente en Things I Wish I’d Said o en su pieza Atardecer que realizó dentro de El Ganzo. La pieza "Atardecer" finalmente fue destruida y realizó una instalacion de rocas sobre un muro titulada RUINA CIRCULAR.
