Kensler is an American Multimedia artist with her primary studio currently based in Alabama. She spent the last decade living and working between Brooklyn, Nashville, and Mexico City. Her work situates itself at an intersection between themes of disembodied mysticism and self-discovery in the natural world. Occasionally using figuration as a tool to place the artist within these planes of thought, she works primarily from the subconscious, as well as calling upon personal histories, dreamscapes, and folklore. Beyond canvas and paper, hand built ceramics provide a sculptural outlet for investigation.
